Cannabis and hemp plants contain CBD and THC along with more than 540 other substances. The main difference between the two plants is the amount of each compound they contain. Cannabis contains more THC and less CBD. Hemp contains more CBD and less THC.
Legally, industrial hemp is Cannabis sativa L. with a delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol content equal to or less than 0.3%. As a plant, it is a dicotyledonous, dioecious, photoperiodic plant with small seeds. This means that it is a broadleaf plant with male and female plants that generally blooms depending on the trigger factor of the length of the day.
However, some varieties can bloom for a certain number of days and are known as autoflowering varieties.
